No One Really Knows How Fast Wearable Tech Will Succeed, Just That It Will

In a new Business Insider Report, they make heads and tails of the above image which suggests that no one really knows where we will end up with Wearable Tech.

Although the projections are all over the map two things to note:

  • Wearable tech is on the map
  • Growth is expected as we head into 2017

ABI is the most aggressive outlook with 485 million annual device shipments by 2018. While IMS Research says that this sector will grow from 14 million shipments in 2011 to only 171 million by 2016.
